about the author
Am I being arrogant by being here? That’s how I feel about starting a blog in the midst of so many quality sites already existing. But everyone has a voice, and a responsibility to make it clearer and better. So here I am , hell bent on exposing the greatness of the greatest art, writing.
I was gone for a long time before coming back to the practice. I went on and off, sometimes for years, before starting to write again for the love of the craft, and the memory of how it used to make me feel. I’m still a novice, and would love to get better at it. I’ve always enjoyed my content though, so it is time to force it on you with this blog.

I have long enjoyed thinking about things in a deeper way and putting that depth into written words. I love explaining my ideas to people, and reading others’ theories on things as well. My kind of fun is discussing the intellectual side of things with like-minded individuals, whatever their opinions are. I also like simple stuff like video games and movies so in the end I’m just a simpleton? yes.
Sparks in the Mind

The sparks start to fly when you discover that you have something to say about the world, something to give back to it. For me this was when I was in grade school, and began to love the writing assignments we would get in English class. Back then I didn’t have much skill, just a vivid imagination, and an excuse to make it into something with my pen and 5 star notebook. My teachers began to look forward to my stories too. Its the only time I remember getting several extra days to work on homework, because they knew I was going to come back with something crazy. This is when I first thought I might have some calling to write.
Your origin story may be different. Your spark of interest may come when you realize you have a surging opinion about something. Whether it’s a burning desire to speak out on the modern political battles, or a benevolent need to share your experiences in life to help others, there is something you are compelled to talk about.
Evolution of The Pen
I always enjoyed literature growing up, but I didn’t realize until later in life, when I started to write again, just what a magic wand it really is. As early as childhood, the act of putting words down on paper has a satisfying quality to it. It’s creation, even in the simple form of a story written by a child. Expressing something from your mind is an innately gratifying practice.

When you get older things start to change, and writing becomes a more complicated process. There is more in our minds that needs to be sorted out, and more complicated things that need to be arranged before it can be thrown on the paper and be absorbed by others.
It requires getting in touch with your own opinions, before you can write them down. It requires identifying any contradictions, before you get caught with them in your work. It involves deep thinking, so that you have something worthwhile to contribute to your reader. This sharpening of your sensitivity to the improvement process is a profound part of starting to write.
This has been my experience, using this evolution to self teach my way across the bridge of progress, as well as follow the guidance of remarkable sources like library books and writing blogs. It has been my personal mission. One that has allowed me to make more progress in my overall life than I could have imagined, and in more ways than I ever imagined.
Searching for Elevation

Before starting to write again in the past couple years, I was at a lull. I was also at a pause as far as progression in my life was concerned, not having a clear idea of where I wanted to be personally and professionally. I just knew I wanted to get some kind of artistic higher expression going to balance out life with my stressful construction day job. However, beginning to write again has had great effects that I could not have foreseen.
After reigniting my talent, I have gotten in touch with skills that had laid long-dormant. My mind has gotten sharper, and my thoughts are clearer. The results are tangible. That’s why I am so fond of the hobby. Writing will have you grab the steering wheel and set you on a path to achieving things that you wouldn’t necessarily have anticipated. As long as you stretch yourself and put yourself into your work!
My goals for my blog are these; to further my own progression as a writer and as a person, AND to help anyone else I can to reap the value of writing in your own life. The difference can be life-changing. I invite you to come interact with me on the climb to be the best writers and thinkers we can be. You may go from a place of little focus, weak attention span, and low motivation… to someone who is exponentially more clear-headed, inspired, and excited to think about, and write about this crazy and complex world.
As part of this blog’s goal, I will be adding content to my site that I have written and created, of different genres and types. Whether it is a post about me doing something in my life that you can relate to, a piece of fiction, or observations of real life, I want you to walk away with an understanding of both the topic of the post, as well as an understanding of how my point of view was aided by the act of writing about it itself, because writing helps you think.
Some of the topics I include may seem like it came out of a random grab bag, and maybe that’s exactly the way it came to my head. Hopefully every post can be of use to somebody, if only to show you that almost any topic that comes to your head, may be worth starting to write and expressing your thoughts about. I want your creativity to be stimulated so you’re inspired to write. Your thoughts are valuable! and I look forward to reading them myself.
